Ms. Cheung focuses her practice on assisting in patent prosecution and counseling in the fields of computer science. Ms. Cheung graduated from University of Washington School of Law in 2011, with a focus on intellectual property law. While in law school, Ms. Cheung participated in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, where she provided IP-related legal service and counseling to technology entrepreneurs, including drafting nondisclosure/noncompetition agreement, preparing audit memoranda, introducing U.S. IP laws to participants of the BEDC Certificate Program of the UW Foster School of Business, and the like.
Ms. Cheung’s legal experience also includes a judicial externship with the Honorable James L. Robart at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, externships with the UW Division of Washington Attorney General’s Office and UW Center for Commercialization, and an internship with the IP litigation group of a large law firm.
Ms. Cheung joined the legal profession after gaining hands-on technical experience. Specifically, she developed e-business software applications for five years before going to law school.
Ms. Cheung grew up in Beijing, China and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She, her husband, and their two children live near the Seattle area.
